Had a blast breaking glass!! This production with Consumer Cellular and brand new Ad Agency The Mayor was an action-packed production that was definitely one of the most memorable shoots in CamLock History. If you ever want to shoot in Palm Springs, do it, it’s a treat.
Preproduction:
Morgan loves golf, and Nick loves Pre-Pro! It’s the time where we get to be the most creative - coming up with shots & ideas for the best way to tell our client’s story. When The Mayor came to us with this project, we couldn’t have been more excited to not only show off our pre pro skills, but also to meet some golf LEGENDS.
We knew we were going to make animatics, so Nick took the reference from the agency and went out and motion-captured himself doing the same trick shots to put the data into Unreal Engine.
With the help of Google Maps and a bit of computer magic, a digital duplicate of the shooting day - with location, talent, and actions - was born. (If you’re interested to learn more about this process, check out THIS video on our Instagram where Nick goes further in depth!)
Our animatics are also a great tool for communication between crew, producers, the agency, and the client, so that everyone starts on the same page.
