Top Film Production Stages and Studios in Austin, TX

CamLock Films has had the honor of working with many incredible studios across Austin. These studios can be utilized in many ways; From shooting on their sound stages, to storing equipment, to hosting events, they offer a wide variety of services that fit the needs of any production. Here, we spotlight our favorite Austin studios (listed in no particular order). Each one has left a unique imprint on our projects, and we're excited to share them with you. We've included links to their websites alongside our thoughts on what makes them stand out.


Aduro

Aduro Studios, a cornerstone in the Texas film industry, began in 2011 as an owner/operator service. Evolving from a garage startup to a custom-built facility in 2018, Aduro offers 2 full-size sound stages, equipment rentals, production office space, and secure equipment storage. Aduro's commitment to kindling creativity in filmmakers and providing guidance is evident in their decade-long presence in the evolving Central Texas film scene. CamLock frequently utilizes Aduro's services, spending many hours shooting on their cyc or setting up our camera on prep day, you’re likely to see us there at some point between & during shoots.

STRAY VISTA

With its opening in January 2023, Stray Vista Studios, located in Dripping Springs became the largest virtual production LED volume in Texas. Spanning a whopping 10,000 sqft, this studio can be utilized in many ways including, plates, UnReal Engine tracking, or traditional studio use. CamLock has shot at Stray Vista twice and have loved our experience both times. Stray Vista is also available to rent out for events - you can take your event to the next level with the crystal clear images that the LED volume provides. Caster

Caster Studios is both a studio space and a distribution center. Their large sound stage and studio space, which CamLock Films has enjoyed working at a few different times, is conducive to the development and production of many different productions. With a team led by Founder and Creative Director Nick Caster, Caster Studios boasts 15 years of experience in bringing creative visions to life.


Co-Production House

Co-Production House, located in South Austin, specializes in virtual production. They offer a range of services including custom Unreal Engine environment creations, virtual and hybrid production, and expertise in camera tracking systems like Ncam and the Sisu C20 cinema robot. Their studio focuses on serving the local community and the Texas film industry, focusing on technological advancement.


Omega

Omega Broadcast Group, based in Austin, Texas, specializes in production equipment and services. They are known for offering a wide range of high-quality video and audio gear, catering to both professional filmmakers and broadcast productions. Omega is a great option if you are shooting on greenscreen, since their cyc wall default color is green. CamLock Films had a memorable experience shooting the fully virtual AMD Corridor of Champions at Omega Studios, their advanced facilities and equipment helped to bring this ambitious project to life. Originator

Originator Studios is a hub for creative video production and virtual reality development. They offer a range of services, including full-service video production, event production and live streaming, aerial videography, and post-production services. Their expertise also extends to VR and AR app development, and mixed reality production. Their 800 sq. ft studio space is equipped for various uses, from music videos to corporate shoots. Spiderwood Studios

Spiderwood Studios, nestled along the banks of the Colorado River, offers a unique filming location in Central Texas. It features diverse settings, including sound stages, a backlot, and a courtyard, catering to a variety of production needs. We shot a colorful AMD spot at Spiderwood, which their large sound stage was perfect for.


Suite 650

Suite 650 is a multidisciplinary creative space located right by the Austin airport. Spanning 4,000 square feet, it's designed to support and empower many different mediums of artistic visions. Their community minded approach makes them a great option for Texas based projects. They also have rental gear available which makes it a catch all for whatever creative project you are working on.
