When AMD came to CamLock Films with a concept and a folder of reference images, they needed a partner who could focus a loose idea into a shootable script and put it on screen. As an Austin video production company, we took the brief — a "Day in the Life" look at AMD's business laptops powering AI-driven workflows for professionals on the move — and shaped it into a four-video campaign aimed at developers, salespeople, and project managers. The catch was scope versus budget: the story called for eight distinct locations with multiple angles at each, and the resources supported a two-day shoot with a small crew. Our job as their production partner was to make eight expensive-looking worlds out of a lean commercial production plan.

The solve was a virtual production approach built around an LED volume at Stray Vista. Rather than chase eight physical builds or location moves, we generated AI background plates for each setting, painted the subject out, and projected those environments onto the volume wall. We then placed talent in front of the wall and lit directly to the plate — the core advantage of an LED volume, where realism and interactive lighting come for free instead of being faked later. Because the split-screen design carried most of the energy, the camera could stay deliberately restrained, with clean push-ins and push-outs that kept the effect locked together across panels.

Execution leaned on precise craft. To make matched moves read as truly in sync across split-screen halves, we brought in Ari Morales and a motion-control robot so the opening move on each side ran at identical speed — the kind of repeatability handheld can't deliver. Post-production is where the campaign came alive: editor Ryan Kelley cut the four pieces, Mike Ricks built the split-screen motion graphics that drove the pacing, and colorist Morgan unified the AI-plate environments into a consistent, premium look. Every deliverable was finished in all aspect ratios for CTV, YouTube, and paid social.

The result was eight high-production-value locations and four polished spots, produced in two days with a small crew and no costly location packages or heavy VFX cleanup. For AMD, that meant network-grade branded content delivered fast and efficiently; for agency producers, it's a clear case for CamLock Films as a go-to commercial and brand film production partner in Austin, Texas — one that solves scale-versus-budget problems with craft rather than spend.
