The 2020 Superbowl commercial for Idea Public Charter School was a collaboration between CamLock Films and Swng Productions. For this project, we were hired on as the creative team behind the project, while Swng produced the spot. Morgan worked as the director of the project along side Nick, who shot and edited. When Swng came to us with the idea, Nick and Morgan worked to give creative input on the script and create a solid pre vis video from stock footage. On the production day, we had to readjust our schedule on the fly due to inclement weather. Working in an active school also presented some unique challenges to filming, which the Swng and CamLock teams worked together to overcome. We shot on the Arri Amira and Cooke Speed Pancro Lenses. We used a stedicam for camera movement and had a B camera on a dana dolly to help us grab additional texture shots within our 10 hour day. We edited and colored the footage in house.
