PooPourri Holiday Campaign — Direct-to-Brand Comedy

For its holiday push, PooPourri came straight to Camlock Films — no agency in the middle — to build a comedic, aromatherapy-themed campaign from concept through finish. As an Austin video production company that loves building worlds in studio, we took the brand's tight timeline as license rather than a limit: working directly with the client meant we could write as we shot, pivot on the fly, and chase whatever was landing funniest on set. The concept leaned into wellness-parody — aromatherapy as a path to enlightenment — with a comedic lead guiding viewers through it.

Challenge & approach
A direct-to-brand relationship and a fast clock pushed us toward a build-it-and-play model rather than a locked, pre-vized shoot. We brought in production designer Joscelyne Ponder to construct two distinct worlds inside the studio: a stylized designer bathroom and a main space dressed as a yoga-and-aromatherapy palace. For the lead we cast Sarah Yokely, a performer from a local Austin comedy troupe we'd been watching closely — she absorbed roughly 30 scripts essentially overnight, brought her own jokes, and riffed with us on set to find material that was never on the page. That combination of a controllable built environment and an improv-ready lead is what let the campaign generate volume without going thin.

Execution
We shot three days in studio plus a prep day at Caster Studios in Dripping Springs, capturing on an ARRI Alexa 35 with a Fujinon 19-90mm Cabrio zoom. Because the whole thing was a moving target, we wrote and refined on the floor, then handed straight into an in-house post pipeline built for speed: a three-editor team — Stijn Dobbelarre, Ryan Girard, and Nickolas Grisham — cutting and coloring off our office server, finishing videos in batches of five to hit staggered delivery windows across roughly three weeks. The output ranged from straight comedic spots to deliberately wacky executions, including split-screens paired with brainrot-style filler engineered for social feeds.

Results & close
All told we delivered around 20 assets, A/B tested across channels to see which executions performed, with a 60-second director's cut — a stitch of the best bits — living on our site. Building the sets ourselves, casting an improviser who could keep up, and running a batched in-house finish is exactly the kind of fast, flexible branded content work that makes Camlock Films a production partner brands can hand a tight holiday timeline and trust to deliver.
