AMD Ryzen | “Rembrandt”

2 DAY SHOOT | PRODUCTION AND POST PRODUCTION

Agency: Drumroll

Production Company: CamLock Films

Producer: Mel Loncich

Directors: Morgan Bond & Nickolas Grisham

DP: Ivy Chiu

In October Drumroll came to us to pitch on an exciting new campaign for AMD. They wanted three :15 second spots on a huge orange gradient world and we were challenged to bring it to life. AMD was looking for a production partner with a diverse crew and who could edit on an AMD process, and CamLock fit the bill perfectly.

The creative for this project included a 180 degree time lapse shot of three personas - the creator, the entrepreneur, and the gamer - which was a very unique and exciting challenge for us. We wanted the time lapse to ramp in and ramp out at the end and we wanted to be able to do it the same way every time, so we decided that a motion control robot was the best way to do it. We used the Sisu Robot Arm from the lovely folks over at Six Axis to get this unique look. Check out the behind the scenes photos below to see what it looked like on set! We shot on the Alexa Mini LF with ARRI Ultra Primes and a Fujinon 19-90 Zoom Lens.

On day one, we shot stills with our three personas as well as two additional stills only talent, for a total of 5 cast. After we wrapped, AMD added an additional :30, :29, and web banner asset, which had a different aspect ratio than the rest of the spots, so we worked to create the additional assets and delivered with the rest of the videos. We had 25 business days to write custom music with composer Jeremy Smith, edit, color, sound design, screen replace, and cleanup. Nickolas edited with post support from BL&S Post, 2d compositing with JP Jaramillo D86 VFX and we finished color & sound at Blk Mkt Studios.
