Doodle | “It Starts with When”

Nick and Morgan were brought on board from concept to completion in another fun project with the Rickhouse Media team. This was not only marketed to the U.S. but included a German audience which proved to be an exciting challenge. There was no dialogue recorded for the shoot but if the actors chose to improvise lines, we had to make sure english words weren't easily identifiable. Many "peas and carrots, peas and carrots" were heard during takes. This was also the first time Nick and Morgan had directed voice-over talent in a different language and communicated with clients on the other side of the globe. We had lots of 10am deadlines and early morning conference calls. We never pass up an opportunity to broaden the horizon and this was no exception!

Another fun challenge for this project was concepting - something we had done very little of up until this point. Nick wrote the script and scenes, as well as coming up with each ‘persona’ based on the target audience of the video. We worked directly with clients through Rickhouse to be sure that we were delivering exactly what they wanted from the script phase all the way through asset delivery. 

We shot on the ARRI Amira with our brand new Angenieux Optimo Prime Lenses. This is the first shoot where we’ve been able to use them and they were such a dream! We used BL&S Post for editing and motion graphics and colored with Nick at Finland Finish.
